ARMTELEMED: Road to the Future

In October of 2011, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia collaborated with the Armenian Association of Telemedicine, the American Telemedicine Association, the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth, and the Union of Information Technology Enterprises to present the First Armenian International Congress on Telemedicine and eHealth. Known by the name ARMTELEMED: Road to the Future, this event aimed to establish a greater connection among those interested in healthcare information and communication technologies.
Held in Yerevan, Armenia, at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, the congress drew nearly 300 participants from more than 20 countries, encompassing healthcare professionals, government officials, policy makers, and executives in the field of information technology. It represented an important step for international efforts in this sphere.
About Peter Killcommons, MD: A specialist in telemedicine and teleradiology, Dr. Peter Killcommons holds the position of CEO for Medweb, a company he founded in California in 1992. In addition to providing radiology and telemedicine services, he also heads disaster response and other philanthropic efforts. He served as a keynote speaker at ARMTELEMED: Road to the Future, where he addressed bringing telemedicine technologies into Afghanistan.
