A graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Peter “Pete” Killcommons serves as CEO and founder of San Francisco-based Medweb, a company focused on developing innovative telemedicine technologies. Outside of work, Dr. Peter Killcommons supports a number of nonprofit groups, including Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA).

In response to natural disasters in late 2015 and throughout 2016, CCUSA dispersed over $4 million in relief funds to various Catholic Charities agencies. Donations were collected through various fundraising efforts led by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.
CCUSA president Sister Donna Markham OP, PhD, says these relief efforts are at the very core of the organization’s mission, which is to provide help to society’s most vulnerable and hurting people. These funds are distributed differently than relief provided by FEMA and other government organizations in that they are aimed at the sustained and ongoing recovery of disaster-affected areas. These funds also provide help to those who experienced devastation beyond what government relief can recompense.
